Anastase Dragomir- romanian inventor of early version of the modern ejection seat


 Anastase Dragomir (1896-1966) was a distinguished Romanian inventor, most famous for his patent, registered together with Tănase Dobrescu of the parachuted cell, a dischargeable chair from an aircraft or other vehicle, designed for emergency escapes, an early version of the modern ejection seat .
  Dragomirs design was successfully tested on August 25, 1929 at the Paris-Orly Airport near Paris and in October 1929 at Băneasa, near Bucharest. Dragomir patented his "catapultable cockpit" at the French Patent Office (patent no. 678566, of April 2, 1930, Nouveau système de montage des parachutes dans les appareils de locomotion aérienne).
